Managing Tables

Creating Tables

Go to Dashboard > Tables to manage your restaurant tables. You can create tables individually or in bulk.

Individual creation: Click "Add Table" and enter a label for the table. Labels can be anything that makes sense for your layout: "Table 1," "Booth 5," "Patio Left," "Bar Seat 12," etc.

Bulk creation: Click "Add Multiple Tables" and enter the number you need (up to 50 at a time). Tables are created with sequential labels like "Table 1," "Table 2," etc. You can rename them individually afterward.

There is no hard limit on the number of tables you can create. Add as many as your restaurant needs.

Custom Table Labels

Table labels appear in several places:

  • On the customer's screen in the table indicator bar when they scan the QR code
  • On orders in your dashboard and kitchen display
  • On printed QR codes if you include the label in your table tent design

Choose labels that match how your staff already refers to tables. If your servers say "Table 5" or "the corner booth," use those same names so there is no confusion when orders come in.

You can rename a table at any time by clicking the edit button next to it on the Tables page. Renaming a table updates the label everywhere going forward. Orders that were already placed under the old label retain the old label as a snapshot, so your order history stays accurate.

Per-Table QR Codes

Each table has its own unique QR code. When a customer scans a table QR code, the menu opens with that specific table pre-selected. This is how the system knows which table an order is coming from.

To download a table's QR code, click the QR code icon next to the table on the Tables page. You can download QR codes one at a time or use the printable grid view to print all of them on a single page for easy cutting.

Important: Table QR codes are different from your main restaurant QR code. Your main QR code opens the menu in browse-only mode. Table QR codes include a table identifier in the URL that activates ordering mode. Make sure you place the correct table QR code at each table.

Deleting or Deactivating Tables

If your restaurant layout changes, you can delete tables you no longer need. On the Tables page, click the delete button next to the table you want to remove.

Before deleting a table, be aware of these implications:

  • The QR code for that table will stop working. Customers who scan it will see the regular menu without ordering capability.
  • Existing orders from that table are preserved in your order history. The table label is stored as a snapshot on each order, so you do not lose any record of past orders.
  • If you have printed QR codes for the deleted table, collect and discard them to avoid customer confusion.

If you are temporarily closing a section of your restaurant (for example, closing the patio for winter), consider renaming the tables or keeping them but removing the QR codes from those spots, rather than deleting them. This way you can simply put the QR codes back when you reopen that section without needing to recreate tables and reprint codes.

Tips for Table Management

A few practical tips for managing your tables effectively:

  • Label clearly — Use labels your staff already knows. Do not invent a new numbering system just for the digital menu.
  • Print durable QR codes — Laminate your table tents or use waterproof stickers. Restaurant tables see a lot of spills and cleaning.
  • Test every table — After setting up, walk through your restaurant and scan each table's QR code to verify it works and shows the correct table label.
  • Brief your staff — Make sure servers know how the ordering system works, what the table indicator bar looks like on a customer's phone, and where to check incoming orders on the dashboard.
